Yoga is origami for our bodies just as origami is yoga for paper!
Join us for this 2 hour deep dive into the magic of Katonah Yoga®. Geometry, metaphor, maps, personal measure and finding fits in the body will be introduced through a challenging all levels yoga practice. This workshop is designed for teachers and curious students who want to open themselves up to a new dialogue in their yoga practice. Katonah Yoga uses metaphor, geometry, themes from Traditional Chinese Medicine and Organ Theory to add another overlay to the practice. Habits and the way you do your practice work well until they don’t. Katonah Yoga offers a template to find new perspectives and angles on an established or budding yoga practice. These are maintenance practices for the body. This is an oil change and tire rotation. It’s house cleaning. It’s not performance although it can appear dramatic in pictures.
Use these techniques to identify blind spots and weaknesses and help transform and transcend perceived blockages. Heavy use of props and hands on assists (with informed consent) will be featured throughout. Props and assertive assists are used not to correct but to inform. Practice will conclude with Katonah Restorative, Breathwork and meditative wraps. Come give it a try. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
